modelled as classical maidens, each with one arm raised supporting a torchère, now adapted with electric nozzles, with original etched glass shades, raised on hexagonal stepped plinths with laurel leaf decoration, signed POITEVIN on rear of each plinth, also each stamped 81, raised on later painted wood bases, the figures 125cm high, (49" high), overall 182cm high, (71.5" high) (2)

Philippe Poitevin was a pupil of A Toussaint. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1855 to 1872. The Museum in Versailles has examples of his work.
