Description

Otto Kurth (1883 - 1965), American/New York, "Mrs. Barker's Barn, Cutchogue, Long Island," oil on board, signed lower right and iscriebd with the title and adte of Fenruary 1957 on the verso, measures 16 x 20 inches unframed, 19.50 x 23.50 inches framed. CONDITION: Good, slightly dirty, could use a cleaning. Otto Kurth was born in Munich, Germany in 1883 and came to America in 1905 and worked in the Art Department of the New York Times during WWI until 1924. As the Assistant Art Director for Liberty Magazine for 26 years, he also worked as a photo engraver. He was a popular artist based on the east-end of Long Island, New York.
