Painting after Bonheur, Labourage nivernais; le sombrage (Plowing in Nivernais; the tillage), after the 1849 original in the Musee d'Orsay, Paris, inscribed lower left "F.S. Perkins after Rosa Bonheur Paris 1876" (Frederick Stanton Perkins, Wisconsin, 1832-1899), oil on canvas, 26-3/4 x 52 in.; original 19th century gilt wood and composition cove-molding frame with acanthus and shell decorated corners and inscribed verso frame liner "Lining to Binch". Original stretcher and tacking edge, crackle, abrasions at top, stretcher marks, light grime, canvas loose; frame with minor losses to composition. Private Collection, Tryon, North Carolina.
