Cunne Shote, the Indian Chief, A great Warrior of the Cherokee Nation. London: Printed for Robert Sayer, [after 1762]

Engraved mezzotint portrait (13 7/8 x 10 1/8 in.; 351 x 257 mm) by James McArdell after Francis Parsons; timmed very close to platemark, lightly browned. Matted, framed, and glazed.

NOTE

Parsons painted Cunne Shote while he was part of a Cherokee delegation meeting with George III in London. He is depicted holding a knife at the ready and wearing a silver gorget given him by the King.
