Best known for his work in ceramics, Connor studied at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin where he later lectured sporadically from 1976 to 1986. He represented Ireland at the World Craft Conference in Kyoto, Japan in 1978 and at the Paris Biennale in 1980. From 1988 to 1992 he lived in New York where he initiated a series of works in clay at the Mugi Studio. Since returning to Ireland the artist has been based in Cork.
