PAUL, John Dean (1802-1868). A Trip to Brighton. London: Thomas McLean, 1824. 4 hand-coloured aquatint strip sections after Paul (each c.160 x c.600mm). (Light soiling, plate 2 with some dampstaining and fading in the margin touching the image; not examined outside of the mats.) Window-mounted in pairs in an oblong 2° album (465 x 710mm) of blue half morocco gilt by Aquarius.

AQUATINT COACHING PANORAMA, possibly engraved by Alken. Not in Abbey, who describes another panorama after Paul, Trip to Melton Mowbray, as Alken's work. cf. Abbey Life 488.
