white marble and bronze, dark brown patina ; on a stand and a later pilaster
signed and dated  P. Loiseau Rousseau 1897

H. (bust) 62 cm, 24 1/2 in. ; (total) 176 cm, 69 1/3 in.

The bust in overall good condition with a few dark natural inclusions and rust stains to the marble at several places; minor surface dirt in the crevices consistent with age and handling. A few minor chips and lack to the lower edges of the bust. The surface of the marble appears to be slightly weathered due to outside exposure.The bronze head with some vert de gris to the face at several places, in particular to the nose tip, with some minor wear to the surface. The dark brown patina of the face may have been slightly retouched. Very attractive marble in good condition overall.
