In its solitude, my mind has developed, over time, the capacity to let go of its anchoring in the intellect. I refrain from losing my firm connection to the world by pursuing this ability to let go. My photographs map out the areas in which my mind has wandered.

The Wandering Rock was taken in Rügen, Germany's largest island located in the Baltic Sea. In this single photograph of a wandering rock, Bak Jensen captures the essence of beauty, wonder, stillness and space.

Bak Jensen is Associate Professor at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. His work has been shown internationally in a number of solo and group exhibitions, including, most recently, Nordic Moods -- Landscape Photography of Our Time at ARKEN Museum of Modern Art, Denmark. His photographs are held in numerous institutional collections, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; The Museum of Modern Art, New York; and the Bibliothèque nationale de France, Paris. He lives and works in Halseby, Denmark.
