Description

PERROT Ferdinand (1808-1841) drawed and engraved - NAPLES, VUE PRISE DU CAPO DI MONTE

[English description] 1830 - (mm 456x664 with margins) - Woodcut, with pencil and contemporary polychrome watercolouring. Below the lower line at left side artist’s name, in the centre publishing data, at right side editor’s address; below in the middle number 2 and title. Good condition.

[Italian description] Stampa litografica originale, finemente eseguita alla matita, dalla bella coloritura coeva a pennello e acquerello policromo. Sotto il bordolinea inferiore, a sinistra indicazione dell'artista in qualità di inventore ed esecutore dell'opera, al centro indicazione dello stabilimento litografico Turgis e a destra indirizzo dell'editore; più in basso al centro numero 2 (relativo all'appartenenza del foglio a una suite) nonché titolo. L'opera, di notevole piacevolezza e ricercata per il soggetto, è una veduta di Napoli colta dalle alture di Capodimonte, località dove sorge l'omonima reggia borbonica; sullo sfondo a sinistra vi è il Vesuvio con il caratteristico pennacchio di fumo. A destra in primo piano è rappresentato un pergolato, sotto il quale sostano alcune figure di popolani: uno suona il mandolino, l'altro il tamburello, altri popolani osservano due donne che danzano, altri si godono il panorama dalla terrazza; una donna reca sulla testa un'anfora. L'opera raccoglie in un'unica veduta molti degli elementi pittoreschi del paesaggio e del folklore napoletano dell'Ottocento. Perrot oltre che litografo fu pittore di marine e paesaggi, allievo di Gudin, nacque a Paimbeouf nella Loire-inferieure e morì a San Pietroburgo; sue opere furono esposte a Salons parigini fra il 1831 e il 1844. Esemplare in buono stato conservativo.

Payment

Payment is required by 7 days after the end of the auctions and will be accepted, if you are a successful bidder, by International Wire Transfer of by Paypal. Ownership of lots goes to the winner only after payment in full of the hammer price and the commissions for the rights of the auction. The winning bidders will not be allowed to withdraw the purchased items until the payment is successful. IMPORTANT NOTICE- In case of payment with Paypal IL CARTIGLIO will add an additional charge of 4% of the hammer price.

Invoices will be issued in euro. Any complaints about the duties listed in the catalogue and on the quality of the lots awarded will be moved by registered mail with return receipt to be sent no later than 10 days from the date of award. Where the contestation is founded on the basis of documents which in any case must be produced at the winner's expense, IL CARTIGLIO will be held exclusively for the repayment of sums already received, without interest, upon return of awarded goods without any further obligation to compensate in any way.

Export License

EXPORT LICENSES: a license from the Ministero dei Beni culturali will be required before items of certain kinds may be exported. The time required to get the export documentation needs from 30 to 90 days.
