DESCRIPTION: An oil on panel painting by Dutch artist, Petrus Van Kiers. Features a rendering of a woman in a dimly lit room illuminated by a single candle standing beside a table adorned with a small bronze and a wooden candlestick topped by a hanging lantern. Finished with elegant shadow work from the single candle and set in a gilded Rococo style wooden frame. Signed: P. Kiers 1851" CIRCA: 19th Ct.
