Philippe Pavy (French, b. 1860-?) "An Arab Street Vendor with Basket of Oranges", 1887, oil on panel, signed and dated lower left "Ph. Pavy 1887", verso of panel with stenciled stamp "ET590", 8-1/2" x 4". Presented in a fine deep carved and gilded wood frame having pharonic lion masques at each corner, the frame with a later painted wood extension at the rear edges. Provenance: Private collection, Westport, Connecticut.
