10 bi-monthly/monthly parts, 8o (230 x 147 mm). 40 hand-colored lithographic plates, dated and with publisher's imprint, by Crowquill (lightly and unevenly browned, some minor spotting). Original cream pictorial printed wrappers (stitching renewed, backstrips a bit rubbed, some edges creased, minor repairs to front wrapper of Part 5); green cloth folding box.

Four plates in each part designed to extra-illustrate two numbers of the Chapman and Hall monthly issue of Pickwick Papers, May 1836 - November 1837. Yale/Gimbel H1077.
