PIERRE PAUL EMMANUEL DE POMMAYRAC (FRENCH, 1806-1880)
Emperor Napoleon III (1808-1873), in military uniform, black coat with blue stripe on sleeve, gold-embroidered collar, gold epaulettes with three stars, wearing the red sash, badge and breast-star of the French Order of the Legion of Honour, the military medal and two other medals, sky background; together with his consort, Empress Eugenie (1826-1920), in white off-the-shoulder dress with puffed sleeves, blue mantle, sapphire-set brooch worn at corsage, pearl necklace, drop-pearl and sapphire-set earrings, wearing diamond and sapphire-set crown in her fair hair

Sr. Duque de Berwick y de Alba, Madrid, 1924, the Emperor, p. 86, no. 37, illustrated in colour opposite, pl. XX; the Empress, p. 84, no. 36, illustrated in colour opposite, pl. XIX.
In 1855, Pommayrac exhibited a portrait of Emperor Napoleon III at the Paris Salon, under no. 3821/1. In 1861, a portrait of Empress Eugenie was exhibited.
