Possibly Johannes Le Francq van Berkhey, Leiden (the inscription, now pasted to back of frame, is cut from one of his mounts, but appears to refer to a different species of bird, and may therefore be taken from the original mount of another drawing).

NOTE

Johannes Le Francq van Berkhey was a doctor of medicine and natural history at Leiden University. His sale, in Amsterdam on 29 March 1785 and the following days, included many watercolours by Holsteyn and also by the collector himself, as well as human and animal remains, botanical specimens, books and prints.
