2 volumes, 2 o (403 x 290 mm). 50 stipple-engraved plates only (of 420), printed in color and finished by hand after Poiteau and Turpin comprising 26 plates of cherries and 24 of berries (some occasional spotting and browning, plate 21 with remnants of paper adhered to image). Modern buckram, original front wrappers bound in (front wrappers repaired). Provenance : Massachusetts Horticultural Society, J.D. Williams French Fund (bookplates dated 1908; stamps). A fine collection of Poiteau's cherry and berry plates from one of the rarest books on fruit. The plates are from Duhamel's Trait‚ des Arbes frutiers (1808-35), republished by Poiteau on his own.
