Description

This lot features a collection of drawings, clippings, and other material relating to the career of San Francisco architect Willis J. Polk, most famous for having served as supervising architect for the 1915 Pan Pacific Exposition. Highlights include:
1. Original drawing, pen and ink on paper, "'The Owl's Nest,' San Carlos, 'Druid's Hill,'" 250 x 105mm, front elevation, some staining, framed.
2. POLK, DANIEL (draftsman). Original drawing, pen and ink on paper, aerial view of the World's Columbian Exposition, 350 x 160mm, some ink smudges, toning, framed.
3. POLK, DANIEL. Original drawing, pen and ink on paper, "Sketch for an Artist's Home by the Sea," 210 x 210mm, ink faded, leaf creased, framed.
Together with a large album of press clippings and architectural inspirations along with some original pencil drawings laid in, collected by Willis J. Polk, 1890s-1920s.
