Thomas van der Wilt (Piershil 1659-1733 Delft) Portrait of Juliaan van Groenewegen (1671-1739), three-quarter-length, seated in an ochre costume, a chemise with a white jabot and a red wrap, a country house in the background; and Portrait of Johanna van Groenewegen-Staal (1684-1736), three-quarter-length, seated in a blue dress and yellow wrap, a mountainous river landscape with a castle beyond the first signed and dated 'T. vandr: wilt. 1715.' (lower left); the second signed 'T. vandr: wilt.' (lower left) oil on canvas 61.2 x 52.2 cm. both inscribed with coats-of-arms of the family (upper left and lower right); and both with old inventory numbers '103' and '104' together with brush marks of a bear on the reverse. a pair (2)
