Notes

Ferrière arrived in St. Petersburg in 1806; in 1809, his wife became lady-in-waiting to Countess Gudovich, daughter of the governor of Moscow. In 1812, he lost his entire fortune in the fire of Moscow and left for St. Petersburg. Ferrière returned to London in June 1816. Further information can be found in J.-C.
