* Bardet (Andre, 1909-2006). Sailing boats by the quayside colour screen print, 53 x 44cm (21 x 17.25ins), framed & glazed. Andre Bardet was born in Clermont Ferrand, France. A self taught artist he started painting at the age of 17 in his home town of Coudes in Auvergne. Although law was Bardet's profession, he gave up his job to devote full time to his art. His paintings depicted areas of Normandy, Provence, Auvergne, and near Paris. In 1987 he won the Silver Medal of Academie Europeanne des Arts de France.. (1)
