Notes

Born in Ramat Gan, Israel in 1970, Gal Weinstein studied Theater and Set Design at the Tel Aviv University between 1992-1993 and then studied at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, 1993-1997. Exhibiting since 1997, Weinstein rapidly became one of Israel's most prominent young artists and in 2002 he represented Israel at the 25th International Biennial of São Paolo.
Weinstein's work is characterized by a sensitivity to material and space, preoccupation with surface via inferior synthetic materials, camouflage and substitutes, and a fundamental ambivalence regarding the potential political content implied by the work
