Born in Ramat Gan, Israel in 1970, Gal Weinstein studied Theater and Set Design at the Tel Aviv Museum between 1992-1993 and then studied at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem during the years 1993-1997. Exhibiting since 1997, Weinstein quickly became one of the Israel's most prominent young artists and in 2002 he represented Israel at the 25th International Biennial of São Paolo.
