NOTE

Born in Tel Aviv in 1955, Maya Cohen Levy participated in various solo and group exhibitions in Israel and abroad. She has also been the recipient of several scholarships and awards such as the Dan Sandel Sculpture Award, Tel Aviv Museum; Residence Scholarship, Villa Waldberta, Munich and the America Israel (Sharet) Cultural Foundation Grant for Young Artists. The densly worked brush strokes of Cohen Levy's paintings refer to the organic and the geometric but are influenced by Islamic ornamentation as well as the American Abstract Expressionist movement.
