Condition Details: To the unaided eye this piece appears to be in good condition. There are small scratches and chips of missing pigments in several areas along the very bottom edge and on very small spot of missing pigment in the shy, approximately 1¼ inch down and 12 inches from the right. There are places where the pigments possibly have peen splattered with a cleaning solution that altered their appearance. The most prominent is a 3 to 4 inch line by the left hind leg of the foreground horse. Others are around the sun in the background. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals one area where the pigments and varnish fluoresce strongly but this does not appear to be restoration and is more likely a fault of the artist. This spot is 5 ½ inches up and 3 inches over from the right side. The work is framed in a carved rustic brown panel with a linen liner. The liner displays some water damage.
