Notes

First edition. Ramón y Cajal (1852-1934), professor of histology at Barcelona and then Madrid, won the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1906 together with Camillo Golgi for their work on the structure of the nervous system. "This monumental work sets out the cytological and histological foundations of modern neurology" (Garrison-Morton).
