任熊 蘭鴨圖 設色紙本 立軸 一八五三年作
款識:小小柴門養鴨家,門前山石半邊遮。凡盆破碎草繩縛,隨之種些蝴蝶花。渭長任熊寫張晴齋先生詩之四㡧,時咸豐癸丑(1853)夏六月二十有六日。

註:任熊短暫而傳奇的一生,充滿坎坷,父親任椿早逝,留下少年任熊賣畫養家。他輾轉奔波於寧波、蘇、杭、上海一帶,所幸先後得識范湖居士周閑(1820-1875)與大梅山民姚燮(1805-1864),這兩位性情相投的同道與賞音,對任熊畫藝的精進與成熟,起到至關重要的作用。一八五〇年冬,任熊為姚燮繪成代表作《大梅山民詩中畫》百二十頁,並結束三年范湖草堂借居,返回蕭山,此時「里中人始重其畫」。越二年,而立之年的任熊聲名隆起,進入創作旺盛期。「吳之人輦金幣,丐筆墨者,踵相接也」,又「一稿甫脫,零縑片楮,識與不識,悉皆珍若珙璧」。年中,在忘年交黃鞠(1796-1860)撮合下,任熊禮聘蘇州劉公孫之孤女。公孫字文起,有文才,為人孤傲不可近,獨賞周閑而千里修書訂交。因太平軍擬攻南京,吳中居民驚走,任熊與劉氏「合卺於婦家」,次年(1853)二月,方接嬌妻歸蕭山。本幅作於同年六月,以張晴齋詩意入畫,取景庭院一角,山石...
