Rene Bouche, French 1905-1963- Portrait of Afdera Franchetti, seated full-length in a green dress; oil on canvas, signed, signed, inscribed "Mrs Henry Fonda" and dated April May 1958 on the reverse, 119x87cm Note: Afdera Franchetti was the fourth wife of the actor Henry Fonda, from 1957 to 1961. They met while he was in Italy filming 'War and Peace' with Audrey Hepburn and Mel Ferrer. She was born in 1931, the daughter of the explorer Baron Raimondo Franchetti and her brother, Baron Raimondo Nanuk Franchetti was a friend of the author Ernest Hemingway.
