The Author encounters Mrs Collins in St Andrew's Square' from A Glimpse of the Common Life of Georgian Society, The Mirror, Volume 1, No 49; pen and black ink and wash, oval, inscribed, 7.7x6.2cm: together with one other similar pen and ink study by the same hand titled 'A gentleman laces his sister's stays for she is a wit and knows nothing of the skills of dress or making her person agreeable. Mr Bickerstaff is to dispose of this lady in marriage to a man of business', from The Tatler or The Lucubrations of Isaac Bickerstaff, Esq., Volume 2, No 75, oval, inscribed, 7.8x6.2cm., (2). Provenance: with Spink, London, according to labels attached to the reverse of each frame.
