Description

This oblong quarto engraving is from a natural history work by Johann & Martin Elias Ridinger. There is no official title for the work, but it may have been published lacking a title. It was published in Augsburg circa 1825. It is a rare edition of Ridinger's engravings of animals completed by his son post-humously.

Johann Elias Ridinger was a German painter, engraver, draughtsman and publisher. He is considered one of the most famous German engravers of animals, particularly horses, hounds and hunting scenes.

The work is in excellent condition overall. Some of the plate exhibit extremely faint mottled toning which isn't distracting from overall quality. There may be a few minor imperfections to be expected with age. Please review the image carefully for condition and contact us with any questions.
