Ription Peter Anton Lorenzoni (Cles near Trient 1721 - 1782 Salzburg), attributed to Susanna and the Elders, oil on canvas, 69 x 85 cm, framed, (Wo) Peter Anton Lorenzoni belonged to the circle of students around Paul Troger, one of the most prominent artists of the 18th century. The latter's art and that of his pupils had a major impact on the development of art in the Habsburg Empire at a time when Austria went through a political and cultural heyday. In the present painting, Troger's figural approach is distinctly recognizable.
