It has been suggested that the present lot is a preparatory oil sketch for the larger work of the same title in the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, and illustrated in Edmund Morris' 1996 book Victorian and Edwardian Paintings in the Walker Art Gallery and at Sudely House, volume 2, pages 163-164.
