Artist or Maker

Notes

Born Robert Müller in Landsberg in 1859, the artist was a pupil at the Berlin Academy and travelled to Munich and Paris in the early 1890s, where he studied under Jules Lefèbvre. Warthmüller later became a professor at the Berlin Academy. He was a genre painter, portrait and landscape artist, whose portrait of Freidrich II hangs in the Berlin National Gallery.
