Condition:
The work is in very good condition. Only the edges of the canvas and the frame are partially slightly bumped. The image dimensions are 112.5 x 160 cm. The frame measures 121 x 169 cm.

Romul Nutiu (1932-2012)
The artist's career began in the early 60's. He had studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in Cluj between 1951 and 1957. In the 70s, Nutiu was one of the first Romanian artists who embraced abstract expressionism or the European Informel movement. In addition to his work as a painter and sculptor, he taught from 1961 to 1998 at the University of Timisoara. Ten years later the collaboration between him and the historian Dr. Joana Grevers began, who owns the 418 Contemporary Art Gallery in Bucharest. Nutiu remained up to his death in the year 2012 the direction of abstraction. His paintings are always vibrant and colorful. (bde)
