KRYLOV Boris Petrovich (Kryloff Boris) 1891 — 1977 (Paris, ?) Scene-designer, painter Boris Krylov studied under the guidance of A. N. Mikhailovsky and A. S. Golubkina in Moscow. In 1920 Krylov immigrated to Yugoslavia. He headed poster and advertisement agencies South and Motto–Advertising. In mid-1920s Krylov moved to Paris. He organized a group of artists and stage designers. He created scene designs for theatres; he also was engaged in paintings of cabarets and restaurants in the Montmartre. Krylov created scene designs for the performance Eccentric Ballet in the cabaret theatre Canari (1926) and the theatre La Nuit Blanche, and designs for the productions of Prague troupe at Moscow Art Theatre (MKhAT): The Lower Depths by M. Gorky, The Cherry Orchard by A. P. Chekhov, The Village of Stepanchikovo (The Friend of the Family) by F. M. Dostoyevsky. Krylov was engaged in easel painting and graphic arts; he worked a loit in watercolour and gouache. He painted scenes of Russian country life — holidays and festivities, character types, musicians. In 1930s Krylov together with the artist O'Klein organized the Salon of painting and sculpture. He participated in the Salon of Independents (1939), the Salon of Humorists; took part in the exhibition of the Federation of the artists of free and applied arts in the gallery Soleil (1935), and in many group exhibitions — in Buenos Aires (1928), in Cambridge (1929), San Antonio (1930).
