Description

A PORCELAIN PLATE FROM AN IMPERIAL MILITARY SERVICE, IMPERIAL PORCELAIN MANUFACTORY, ST. PETERSBURG, mark and period of Nicholas I (1825-1855),the blue border decorated with gilt imperial eagles, the cavetto depicting Black Sea Cossack senior and junior officers of the 7th Reserve Squadron, described in French on the reverse 'Officiers Supperieur [sic] et Subalterne [sic] du 7eme Escadron de reserve des Cosaques de la mer noire,' with overglaze Imperial cypher, signed on the reverse in Cyrillic 'V. Stoletov, n.1.2' and dated '1834', diameter: 23.7 cm (9 in.). Condition: This plate has been repaired.
