Lot 38: Salvatore Postiglione (Italian, 1861-1906):

Salvatore Postiglione (Italian, 1861-1906): Christening day. Oil on canvas, signed in the lower left corner, approx. 30-1/2" x 23", framed in a gilt frame with carved corner ornaments overall approx. 36-1/2" x 30". There appears to have been some inscriptions on the verso of the canvas that have been obscured by moisture.: Uneven surface, crazing pigments, large unfinished repair in background, unfinished repair on the child's elbow and on the man's shoulder, some other pigment small losses and older inpainting.
