Note:
Sandow Birk and Devin Flynn created The Duel during their residences at the Rhode Island School of Design. This work is an early and influential example of California Lowbrow Art. It is also the first piece that Birk made in the style of the Old Masters, which reached its height in the famous "Smog and Thunder" series.
