ARNOLD SCHOENBERG (1874-1951) Austrian-born composer who revolutionized music with his new method of musical organization, the "12-tone" technique where he related each tone only to one other, departing from the harmonic style that had preceded him. He was to influence an entire generation of young composers, including Stravinsky Very scarce A.M.Q.S., [n.p., 1947], penned on a sheet of four Mozart postal stamps, being three lines from his Pierrot Lunaire, the last of works from his Expressionist period. It premiered in Berlin on Oct. 16, 1912. Signed beneath and adding date 1947. Fine condition. Attractively double matted in tan and burgundy, and ready to frame. $1,500-2,000
