In 1936, Pauser wrote in his article in the Neue Freie Presse, already quoted above (1 November 1936): "...the colour...a value...that is determined by the degree of delight it gives to those susceptible to it... Those who have developed a sense of it will enjoy the harmony produced by the combination of colours of which a form has deliberately been built, and delights of that sort can be so strong that they will drown all other desires. In order create a satisfactory picture along these new lines, one is forced to make great sacrifices and experience repeated assaults and impotent defeats; one must wilfully renounce things one's skilfulness tempts one to do. The traces of such a fight allow the expert spectator to follow the evolution of a work." If one follows this exciting path that seems to be so modest when looked at from the outside, one cannot help but investigate Pauser's virtuoso technique, which he masters so perfectly that it never became an end in itself. Rupert Feuchtmüller (in der oben angeführten Literatur)
