Lot 176: Sheffield Plate Ink Stand by Matthew Boulton

(BR 1728 - 1809, and partner to James Watt), 18th century, stepped rectangular form with applied handle and pierced restraints for ink bottles, molded with (2) pen trays, raised on suppressed ball feet. With (2) blown and cut glass ink bottles. The base of the stand is marked "MB" with trademark starburst.
