Interesting A.L.S. on U.S. Senate Chamber letterhead, 1p., 8vo., Washington D.C., Jan. 16, 1897, to John A. Halderman. In part: "...I have accepted the position to which you refer with some hesitation, but with an earnest desire to assist so far as I can the administration of President McKinley...".
