Simon Posthuma Zaandam 1939 Male torso with young woman Signed and dated '87 l.r. Gouache on board, 90 x 120 cm. NB: Simon Posthuma was part of the artist's group The Fool. In the second half of the sixtie's the group became well known for their costume designs for the Beatles, seen for instance in the film 'The magical Mystery Tour' and the television-broadcast of 'All you need is love'. Posthuma was also responsible for the original set designs for the musical 'Hair' in Los Angeles and various psychedelic designs for famous l.p. covers for artists such as The Kinks, The Hollies and George Harrison.
