NOTE

Sir John Charles Robinson studied art in Paris and exhibited at the Royal Academy, including another rare view of the Isle of Skye. He became Head of Hanley Art School, Superintendent of South Kensington and Surveyor of the Queen's Pictures, holding the post for 20 years.
