Condition: Good
Condition Details: To the unaided eye, the piece appears to be in good condition. Under ultraviolet light a fair amount of potential restoration work is visible. There seems to be in-painting throughout the piece. These areas include; scattered marks throughout the background, primarily surrounding the rider of the horse; the front leg of the horse in the foreground; scattered marks near the top right hand corner of the piece; and a small area in the middle of the cow's back. The piece is signed on the lower left and the "ie" of Pirie also show signs of potential restoration work. This piece has been lined as part of the conservation work done. The piece is in an ornate gold frame. The frame is in good condition, but shows signs of normal wear for its age. Verso: sticker reading "Property of William A. Blackwell"
