SIX ARCHAISTIC JADE AND HARDSTONE BEADS

Late Qing Dynasty

Comprising a miniature carving of a monkey, the pale celadon stone translucent and mottled; a
zun-shaped bead based on the ancient bronze prototype, the celadon stone stained brown and black; two
cong-shaped beads, one decorated on each side with a
yin-yang symbol and elements from the Eight Trigrams, the other plain and stained black in areas; two 'tiger' beads of stylized forms, each with square snout and in a recumbent pose, the orange-brown stones mottled and lightly polished. (6)

Condition Report

PLEASE NOTE: This report describes, but may not be limited to, major condition issues for the lot.







Minor surface pitting and wear. Stones altered to induce colors and textures for the appearance of antiquity. Old chips to the stone tigers. Old vein cracks to one of the
cong beads. Small area reduced on the black
cong bead, revealing the grey body underneath. Reduced corners to the
zun bead. All damages possibly 'intentional' for the appearance of antiquity.
