With 18 chromolithograph plates, 3 folding duotone lithographed maps, 2 duotone lithographed plates, 6 full-page plates plus text illustrations. 8vo (232 x 146 mm). Period half morocco. Intermittent foxing, one plate corner torn, marginal stains to maps, endpapers stained, coming loose from binding, rubbing to cloth and tips showing.

First edition of Lieutenant Skogman's official account of the circumnavigation of the Eugenie, the first Swedish circumnavigation. "Much sought after because of its fine color plates" (Hill p 573).
