Stewart Thomas Charles Wright (1924-2007) Limited edition silk screen print 4/14 'Twilight Wood' Titled and signed and dated '86 22" x 30" STCW was the brother of the well known contemporary artist Royston Wright known as 'Adzak'. He was initially a research scientist but late in life also trained as a professional artist in Bristol. He became a well know enamellist and a member of the British Society of Enamellers and also specialized in high quality screen printing producing low number limited edition print runs. Examples of his work have been published in books and he exhibited extensively, particularly in the South West of England where he lived and sold items of his art privately. His work embodies a unique style with some remarkable insights into the human condition and is equal in originality and quality to that of his brother. A number of his creations show the influence of Beardsley, Chagal and also the Pre-Raphaelites. However, his late professional pursuit of his artistic interests meant that it was only towards the end of his life that his work was starting to gain serious recognition. He died suddenly in his early eighties at a time when he was still prolific in his artwork. This is the first year that his work has been made available at auction.
