Description

Zyta Laky (1912-1971) was active/lived in California / Poland. Known for impressionist landscape, seascape.Signed lower left. Oil/Canvas. Zyta Laky was born in Poland on October 27, 1912. She grew up in Poland during the turbulent World War I time period. Laky studied art at the prestigious Royal Academy of Art in Budapest, Hungary. She spent time under the tutelage of several Eastern European masters. Laky exhibited widely in this country and abroad. She painted in all media. Laky exhibited her works widely on the Monterey Peninsula. She became well known for her plein-air impressionist landscapes and seascapes of the Monterey Peninsula. She was an award winner in many of the venues in which she entered her works. Zyta Laky and her husband owned and operated a Gallery on San Carlos in Carmel, California for many years. She died in Monterey on November 15, 1971. Sight Size: 29.5 x 39 in.
