19TH C. OIL ON CANVAS STILL LIFE
Signed l.r. "Laning 1854" (William Laning, American, SC, 1837 - 1860), Laning was well known for his still lifes, this features three fish in a blue-rimmed Leeds bowl with crackers and an onion, minor touch up in the shadow of the onion, reverse stamped in ink "Wm. A Wisong's Baltimore", written in ink above stamp "$5.00 for picture 3.00 do frame", unframed, 12" x 16", (ex. Robert Wheaton estate, Cumberland Foreside, ME).

If the bidding stops in the audience on the exact amount of the Absentee Bid the Company policy (Plus One) is for our staff member to bid the next raise so that the absentee bidder will not lose the Lot at the exact amount. If two or more absentee bids are received from different bidders on the same Lot, the bidding will start at the next logical raise above the second from the highest bid. If two or more identical absentee bids are received from different bidders, the bid first received by the Company will take precedent. OFFERINGS SUBJECT TO ERROR, ALL GOODS SOLD "AS IS", ALL SALES FINAL. All other Conditions of Sale in this catalog apply.
