The canvas has a stiff line and is presented in a swept and pierced Louis XV-style frame. Under ultra-violet light the varnish appears opaque and a clear reading is difficult. One or two old strokes of apparently old cosmetic retouching can be seen but the picture generally appears in sound condition. A light clean might now be considered.

No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
