In the tradition of the Pop Art artists of the 1960s, Semple uses the visual language of contemporary popular culture, which he combines with the jarring colors of the 1980s. In his bold, eye-catching and mostly large-scale works he deals with essential themes such as life, love and ephemerality.

Condition:
The work is in a very good condition with minimal signs of wear. The dimensions of the canvas measure 51 x 51 cm.

Stuart Semple (b. 1980)
Born in Bournemouth, Stuart Semple first attended the School of Art and Design in Poole and then studied painting and printmaking at Bretton Hall College in Yorkshire. In addition to his paintings, which he creates from Photoshop collages, Semple’s multifaceted oeuvre also includes installations, sculptures and films. His work has been shown at biennials, fairs and exhibitions in Europe, China and the USA. His patrons include celebrities like Sienna Miller and Debbie Harry. In addition, Semple also works as curator and activist. Stuart Semple now lives and works in London and Dorset.
